Well Kai definitely has grown up and had lots going on since my last post in November! We have had lots going on with Kinder and my BIG kinder boy adjusted very well to staring kinder and mummy adjusted ok the the early morning starts!!

We moved in March so Kai has is room all set up we will take a photo during the week so he can show it off.!

Kai has been such a great helper lately and has taken on the weekly job of bringing in the bins and Uncle Shaun gives him gold coins for his money box, he has been saving for quite a while and got enough to get the long awaited and well and truly saved for Nintendo DS … he is loving it and really enjoyed paying for it with his own money!

We said farewell to Pa and Maz last week they are off tripping around in ‘DABUS’ you’ll find them here at their blog. Kai is so interested in seeing how far they are and where they have got too!

The past few weeks have just gone somewhere into history! Time is just passing me by at great speeds and find it hard to sit down and so a post on here!!

Well we are getting nicer weather so getting out to parks and going for walks is getting much more enjoyable!! We went to the local footy oval with Lynne, Olivia and Luke a couple of weeks back and it was a really nice day so we packed up some sandwiches and Lynne bought the kids some treats, it was lovely and Lynne and I even got a 'few' moments to catch up on trashy mags!! Bree was in having Mason so we had Tate for a sleepover and after the park we went home and made a cake yummo!!

Kai was very lucky as mummy ventured out of ebay.com.au into the american site and found some new 'Cars' for his collection!! He got the new Piston Cup Pace Car and 'TJ' he was so wrapped when they arrived in the mail!! I even got on google earth to show where the 'postie' had to bring them from!! lol

We had Oliva over for a sleep over and both the kids had such a great time, we ordered Flushed Away on box office so they made up a little bed infront of the tv and layed down to watch it, AJ and I took a back seat and watched quietly!! It was a great movie!!

In the morning we made a great cubby house and the kids had soo much fun, they got all my boxes from recycling and used them for pretend cereal, milk, etc so gorgeous their imagination.. as you can see on my facebook I captured a bit of them playing!!

We have been going to playgroup lately which Kai really enjoys, its great for him with other kids of all ages and they have good fun stuff out for them to do. Tomorrow we are off to the park again its nice to get out of the house and especially get some exercise in!! Kai is usually ready for a rest by the time we get home and AJ has a sleep on the way!! ahhh!!

Where's the little boy gone ... ??

So my little boy is no more, over the past 6 months he has just changed and grown so much..! He 'knows' better than I and 'he' makes the rules haha not!!!! But u'd think he did!!! hehe

He is soooo in love with his sister it is amazing, he has this thing with her hands as you will see in the pic below he is always touching her hands and gets in quite a daze when he holds her hand. Mind you from time to time there are some tight squeezes goin on too!!!

We are eagerly awaiting to hear the arrival of Tate's baby brother who was supposed to arrive today and celebrate his birthday but he decided that mummies tummy will do for just a bit longer. I am not sure if Bree agrees with that plan!!!! So Tate stayed last Saturday night for a sleep over, we were to Tate's house to watch the grand final and we ended up asking Tate to come for a sleep over. The boys have just recently started talking about and asking for a sleep over!!! so cute. So I asked Tate if he wold like to come for a sleep over at Kai's house and he was off, into his room to pack his bag and then straight out to my car!!!! He was so excited!!!!

They had a great night, I set them up the sofa bed and they hopped in to watch Racing Stripes and b4 8pm hit they were both fast asleep!!! I never heard from them till 7.45am !!!! Nice sleep in!!!!

Last week we went to the movies and saw Surfs Up. it was great and Kai loved it!! he is such a movie buff!!

This week Kai went with Josh for a couple of days to the holiday program they hold at the primary school. On Tuesday they went to the cinema and saw Underdog then went to the park afterwards for a Teddy Bear's Picnic, he had a great day I was quite comfortable with it as he was with his cuz and not too far. Then on Thursday he went to Collingwood Farm, whew they left on the coach at 7.30am and never got back till 5pm HUGE day and he was exhausted!! He loved it though and was so excited to tell us he milked a cow and saw sheep and a duck. He also explained the 'thing' with a blue neck and big tail, well we went through a few animals! was it a lizard?? no.. was it a bird?? no.. did it have circles on it's 'tail'?? yes.. was it a peacock?? YES !!! hooray!.. Sounds like they had a ball.. I suffered a little separation anxiety but survived!!!!!
We had Olivia come for a play last Friday and they both had a lovely time together, they get along really well and Mum and I were sitting inside and look out and they were laying on the trampoline looking up at the sky chatting away to each other it was just adorable, of course by the time I got the camera they were starting to get up and spotted me!!!

I did myself an injury almost 3 weeks ago now put my hand thru a glass window 9 stitches later and it isn't healing well!!!! it was yuk tho and was told I was very lucky I didn't get my main artery yuk, If your stomach can handle the pre stitches photo here it is!!!! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/Melli59/wound2.jpg

Well that's about all for now, we have Olivia coming for a sleep over on Saturday night so they will both be so excited about that all week I am sure!!!

Busy big boy!!!

Well we have had a busy month, the mums group that we have from when Kai was born all celebrate birthdays in the same month (within the month!!) so we have been partying like mad!!! Tiaki has been loving it and we are right up with all the party games!!!

We are just getting all the forms in or Kinder next year tomorrow I have to go and enroll Kai in and get all the information!! How exciting!!! what a big boy!!

On Saturday we went to the city for 'New Zealand Day' it was such a nice day. We drove to Highett station and met friends there anf then caught the train into Flinders Street and met up with Shan it was really nice, they had all sorts of kiwi/maori foods and activities. We sat at the square for quite a while and soaked up the sun and watched heaps of perfomances. Such a lovely day but I was glad to get home and put my feet up!!!! hehe

Tiaki had a ball and the square he found some new friends to play with in the trees so he was more than happy..

He had a great day on Thursday with Nanna Rea and Pa Rich here from New Zealand he has been getting on loads of fun time with them. Yesterday they went and saw Shrek 3 which I heard all about after and I really want to go and see it too!! hehe

We had his party at the play centre on Saturday and that was great Kai really enjoyed himself... and was so spoilt and got heaps of great presents..

The suspence of the baby is getting to Kai now!! We have promised a trip to the zoo once the baby is here and he knows that we are going to see The Wiggles sometime after the baby is here also, so we are imagining that as soon as bubs is here he will expect that we will be off to the zoo the following day!!! haha So I have been trying to explain that it wont happen straight away!! It is giving him something to forward to.

Being that long since I have updated I have to remember what we have been up to!! Elisha was down from NSW so we caught up at Stacey's house for lunch and Kai go to have a play with Harrison and Brayden which we loved and they all played so nicely with each other, being such boys racing around with the trucks and cars!!!.

We took Kai and Jaelyn to the playcentre a couple of weekends ago as the weather had been favourable in that we got a great load of rain but it had us stuck inside for days and there is only so much craft to so and movies to watch..!! So the both of them had a ball and played really well with all the other kids, it was quite busy when we first got there as there was a party on but that finished soon after and there was only us and another family so the kids had run of everything!!! By the time we left after a good 3 hours!! they were buggered and Jaaelyn was asleep on the way home and Kai wasn't far off by the time we got him to bed!
I think once bubs is here that will be a great place for him to let off some energy!!

Last week we went to the library and then came home and made some chocolate crackles, Tiaki did most of it although I obviously did the hot copha. He loved all the measuring and pouring !!! Best of all he decided he should have a sleep till they were all ready!! When he woke up they were set and he sat down and watch ABC kids and munched out on a couple. We went to Bree's the following day and shared some with Tate!

Well thats about it for now... will update again next week hopefully with news of the new addition (fingers crossed!!)

Preparing for Big-brother-hood!!!

Well not too much been doing here!! Well of course always busy but been slack reporting it!

We had a fun Easter weekend, on Good Friday Daddy did a beautiful Hangi, it was his first attempt and it was the best. Tiaki was very intrigued with the goings on and of course wanted to be in on it all!! Here are the pics of the day I can almost taste it all over again!!!

Well we ate well over the entire Easter weekend!!! It was such a treat.

On Sunday Kaitiaki woke up about 7.30 and saw his eggs on the dresser after a little cuddle in bed with mum and dad he was up!!! He dove straight in to the first egg for the day!! Mummy couldn't stand the chocolate breath that early in the morning so we got up and had breakfast!!

Tiaki was very spoilt and got heaps of eggs although in the afternoon he was biting into an egg and it cut into the roof of his mouth so he is off them at the moment!! Which cant be a bad thing!

He went and saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Mass the other week and loved it so that is his newest phase!!

He is also right into the computer he is getting to the Wiggles website and playing all the games on there it can be quite a fight at times to get on here myself!

Over the past few weeks Kai is getting right into the baby moving and kicking and always has been asking is the baby kicking or moving etc... This week every morning the baby has had the hiccups so I have called Kai over and he pulls up my top and places his hand on my belly and then we wait for them!! When the baby hiccups Kai can see and feel it and it has him in hysterics!! He loves it and then carries on to talk to the baby.. such a bonding time and I am so thankful of his age and understanding!

We went to the library last week and again this week. Tiaki chose a great book 'daddy's having a horse' it is a lovely picture book about mummy's growing belly and the birth of a baby.. also a little side story in there about daddy having a horse!! Quite a good one and Kai reads it in bed at night!

Big Boy!!!

I have been slack i know!!!!....

We have been doing loads of swimming at the moment, Tiaki has his swimming lessons still on a Saturday he had the last one for this term today and we are going on a Tuesday night to the local swimming centre and Mass and I get in and go over quite a few things he learnt at swimming.. It is great fun and he is a true lil fish!!!

Today he got his certificate for passing 'ducks 2' !!!!!!!!! SO EXCITING!!!!!!

He starts back next term in the class up..

We went to a birthday party the other weekend, a friend had his 2nd Birthdday, Brayden. It was a good fun day and Kai had fun with all the kids and played heaps of fun games.!!

Yesterday with I went to the Rally for our local birthing Unit, Mass and Kai went to see the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sounds like it was all good fun and a real boys movie!!! hehe

We got tickets to go and see The Wiggles in June the tickets were hard to get and sold out so quickly!! When we went in 2005 it was at Rod Laver in the city but this time it is at Dallas Brooks Hall which is a much cosier venue apparently. Kai is looking forward to it so much. Oliva and Lynne are coming also and by then we will have the new addition so I asked Mum to come with us to help me out!!!! How funny Mum at the Wiggles!! I offered her some DVD's so she can sing along with Kai!! hehehehehe

Hooray they're home again!!!

Well after a long week for mummy the boys are back, I dropped them of at the airport on the day of my last post (the 5th Feb). Kai was so excited and was so keen to just get on the plane and set off!! As you can see in the pics he was very determined to wheel his own case and check it in!!! Although once it was checked in he was really unsure about where it was going and need some convincing that he could collect it at the other end!!!

Mass said that Kai took a couple of days to 'come good' and was wandering around quite lost. Although he came good and I'm told had heaps of fun with his cousins and had great fun wrestling with the boys.

I spoke to them on a few occasions and the first time I spoke to Kai he said 'Where are you Mummy, I can't see you' it was so cute but had me pining for him all over again!! Kai was wrapped to tell me he had eaten lollies and been playing with his cousins.!!
After the funeral they headed up to Te Kaha to see Daddy's Auntie Alice and cousin. From the photos looked like they had heaps of good times and catch ups! Kaitiaki was the lead photographer and loaded the camera with all sorts of pics!
I heard about an incident with a big pig from Kai so will have to get the rest of the story from Mass but I gather it scared him somehow!!
On the way back to Whakatane they popped in to see Pop and Kai took an awesome pic of Mass and Pop! Then along the way back got a nice pic of White Island

Mum came with me again to go and pick the boys up on Tuesday, we were waiting and waiting and watching people come through the doors, then finally Kaitiaki and Mass came through!!! The look on Kais face was priceless, he was looking at me as if to say, is that really you and starred for a while then came over for a hug!!! We walked to the end of the railing and the whole time he had his eyes on me!!! At the end I got a massive hug and he said, I missed you mum!!!! so Lovely, Big hugs with Mass and then headed to the car.. Kai wanted to hold hands with me all the way to the car and each time I looked down to him he had a huge smile that just didn't leave his face!!!
The way home he was so tired and Mum was trying to get him to have a rest but he was fighting so hard to stay awake!! Until finally after loads of talking and shaking and moving to stay awake he closed his eyes!! He didn't have the greatest sleep that night he kept walking into my room and saying 'You missed me mum"!!! then back to bed then in another hour he was in again saying 'I love you mum'!!! so adorable!

On Wednesday he went to creche which I felt awful about but I had to work then I picked him up and planned for a rest and do nothing day on Thursday which was just what we did!!! Had fun playing trains and reading! We even had a sleep in my bed in the afternoon which was great!

On Friday we had Bree and Lynne around for coffee which was nice and it was obvious Kai and Tate hadn't seen each other for quite a while!! They were full on and non stop having fun!!

On Saturday Kai had swimming in the morning, he did so well and tried everything the lady asked!!! They blew bubbles and got things from the bottom of the pool by holding their breath. Kicked while being a boat and was wrapped to jump off at the end!!

Saturday afternoon we went to Josh's birthday party, Kai was quite tired after his swimming and really could have done with a rest before but didn't work out so he sat on my knee for a little while then got his second wind and he was off for a while. He had his face painted and then spotted a soccer ball and that was him and Nanny for a while kicking the ball around.

After the party we headed home and both had a rest on the couch, we were heading to Mass' Uncle Mack's for a catch up in the late arvo so it was nice to get a sleep in!!
We arrived there about 6.30 and Sundae was there already with her kids so Kai was straight into it!! It was quite a late night for Tiaki and me I have been a no later than 10pm mummy lately so 1.30-2am was REALLY late for me!! hehe Yesterday we went to the pools up the road from Mack's which was a life saver after a 38 degree weekend!!!
Kai had a ball and I lost count the amount of times he jumped in and I am sure he would have kept going!!!!
We got home late yesterday and was so tired so had a relatively early one after Kai fell asleep in the car on the way home then put him straight to bed and he woke up at about 8pm and was adamant he wanted toast for dinner!!! So 8 slices later he was happy!

Today Tiaki is in creche and no great plans for tomorrow another day in hopefully to rest up again after a huge weekend!

Sad News

We got some sad news yesterday, Mass' Nan, Rangi passed away. So we had a crazy day yesterday organising flights and washing, and bags etc.
Mass and Kai have flown to Auckland this morning and will make their way to Whakatane today. They will be there till Tuesday so I am already missing them terribly. It will be a long slow week for me this week I think!
Not too much to report I will be back once I hear from the boys and update what they have been up to. Kai was so excited this morning to be going on a plane!! He will have so much fun with all his cousins and he will be wrapped to be seeing Blake so soon again!!!

Last Monday we enrolled Kai for swimming which starts this Saturday and we havent heard the end of it.. He keeps hopeing each morning he wakes up that it is Saturday so he can put on his special swimming cap and the goggles daddy bought him and head to the 'big' pool!!!!!

He has been practicing with them in the bath sussing them out before swimming...!!

Mass and I are both going to watch him on Saturday so he will love that!! The main reason behind the whole learning to swim idea comes from our recent summerdayze at the beach! Kai is very confident (in his mind!!) in the water which worries us a bit as we all know the trouble children can get into in just moments in the water. He has been down the peir with Mass a couple of times and has jumped off into the water and thinks it is great which is all well and good but I would feel sooooo much better if he know 1. How to jump safely and 2. How to get to the stairs or edge of the pool. Just this weekend gone Mass and Kai went to the beach and walked on the peir and Mass jumped from the top rather than the lowered section, once Mass bobbed back to the top he saw Kai trying to take his top off preparing to get ready to jump which was far too high for a lil 3.5 year old!!!! So swimming it is!!! I can't wait infact I am probably more excited than he is!! hmmm maybe not quite so!

On Thursday we went for a huge walk with Lynne and baby Luke. Thankfully we took the pram as Kai fell asleep (suprise suprise!!) on the way!!!! It was a lovely day and we even got some sun on the walk!! We no longer have Tate on a Thursday as Bree needed to secure the day for him so that once I was too pregnant to watch him he could go but it didnt quite work that way so he had to start now.

Friday was AUSTRALIA DAY so we did the aussie thing and had a bbq bacon and egg breakfast!!! after feeling quite stuffed from that did a bit of relaxing Kai had a go at his newest craze Soccer (if it is not soccer it is basketball!!) and then organised for a BBQ dinner with Bree, Braeden and Tate. We had a beautiful dinner and then headed down to watch the fireworks. They were fantastic and apart from the breezy night we all really enjoyed it and the walk back to settle the dinner!! Kai was absolutely wrecked for the day and having not had an arvo sleep he was almost asleep in Mass' arms on the walk home.

On Saturday evening Lynne had asked us to join her and Olivia to see Happy Feet. They had been to see the Fairy Penguins in Phillip Island when Olivia's Nan was here from England and they won 4 tickets. It was such a wonderful movie and even though we had been to see it when it first came out we enjoyed it just as much the second time.

Kai and Olivia were so good throughout and only just towards the end got restless legs!! The stood for little while where Olivia made the move!!! She put her arm swiftly around Kai and Kissed him!!!! hehehe wasso adorable and Kai was enlightened by the whole act with a little embarrassment as Lynne and I chuckled away at them all the while trying to watch the end of the movie!!!! hehehe so cute!!!!

Today we had Nanny Kerryn and Junie over for lunch, Junie made us yummy yummy Egg and Lettuce Sandwiches and Aberdene sandwiches yum yum.

Kai has been eating so well at the moment, last night he absolutely cleared his plate of rissoles and vegies, there was not even a pea left! This morning was the same with his Weet Bix he ate every last mouthful. He is right into cheese slices at the moment and doesnt just stop at one!!! Better than a biscuit I suppose!!! hehehe

Well thats all for now, I am sure I will update after Kai's first swimming lesson if not sooner!!!!

Happy Hello's and Sad Goodbyes....

This past weeks been full of fun fun fun with cousin Blake. Blake's last week here which has gone ever so quickly. With some scorching hot days the boys spent some time at the beach.. And Blake enjoying and trying out the new Skim Board thankfully he got all the sun and great weather he did as it is a different story this weekend.!!!

On Monday the day we have been counting down till!! Mum and Ron (a.k.a Nanny and Ronpa!!!) moved back from Tasmania hoooray!!! We were so excited to see them when we went to Junie's on Tuesday night for dinner... big hugs and kisses and Kai was just over the moon to see them. Its great to see how he really remembered and I am sure all the talk and web cam has helped maintain him memory and bond with them. We had the yummiest dinner of pasta bake, quiche, salad, chicken ..... yumm yumm and yumm!!! Nan was busy busy cooking. Then we had yummo sponge cake for dessert and sang Happy Birthday to Kell..

On Thursday we had Tate for the day so we played heaps of Lego, the boys loved it and were playing characters like 'mummy' and 'daddy' so cute but very confusing when I think that Kai is calling me!!! hehehehe Mum and Ron called in for a coffee, Tate was very cute following Mum around saying Nanny!!! Mum thought it was a crack up!

Yesterday morning we were all up with the birds at 4.30am!!! Blake had to be at the airport at 7am for his flight back to Christchurch. Kai had been prepared for the departure although it happened so quickly I think he did feel a little ripped off and stood for quite some time after Blake had gone through the doors and they had closed. His eyes had welled up and had me with a lump in my throat also. We decided to go and watch 'Blake's" plane (not really Blake's plane but gave him another chance to say goodbye) that was just as sad as the plane was taking off he followed all the way around the glass so he could watch as much of the take off as he could. All the way to the car he was repeating Blake's gone now, 'Blake's gone to see Nanny Rea... poor boy .. Then as we left the car park on the very dark and dismal day it was he spotted a plane in the sky ( he has the best eyes!!) and was happy to again say goodbye to Blake.!!

We came home and after about a 30 mins nap in the car Kai was charged and not that interested in going back to sleep!! Mummy and Daddy sure were!! I dozed for most of the afternoon and just seeing and hearing Kai run around made me tired!!! Last night we were in bed early and Kai was up at about 7 playing with the dogs!!!

Today we have had a quiet one Mass got some movies out and they watched Ant Bully so a relaxing weekend after the early start!! I heard from Blake to say he got back safely so that was good and he now has another 5 days in Christchurch with Nan before he goes back to Whakatane. Enjoy.!!

So that's all the happenings for the moment!! Kai is getting excited that mummy's tummy is getting bigger and thinks the baby should come now!! We have been asking for his help with names so once I get the ideas down I will post them on the Waiting Womb Blog ..

Too Much Fun!!!!....

As the title suggest, Kai is having a ball with his cousin and I think next Saturday when he has to go home is going to be terrible and Kai will be really upset..
We have been keeping busy busy since I last updated!!! Which I know, I know was nearly 2 weeks ago now!! oopps..
Well the day after the the last post the 2nd Jan we went to see Happy Feet with Mummy Daddy and Blake. Kai was intrigued from the moment it began. He thought it was fantastic and was quite concerned for Mumble when he couldn't find him mummy!! so sweet!! Since the movie he gives who ever will listen a run down on the movie and what happened!!... I have noticed lately the true understanding of things and the communication that he uses to get it across just blows me away. Kids definitely are sponges and take it ALL in!!
Last Friday night we went to the Carnival in Rye it was great except the flies, they were absolutely crazy and driving everyone nutty!!! Once it got dark they seemed to go away thank goodness.. Blake got an armband so he could go on any ride unlimited and Kai got some tickets this time we tried to avoid the Trampolines!! At $10 a go he would be up for a couple of goes so best not to tempt him!!! He went on the big inflated slide again a bit different to the one at the other carnival. Although this one was a lot stricter and was timed where as the other one was more so when they had had enough. So when the guy blew the whistle to get off he was NOT impressed and didn't want to put his shoes on or do anything. hehe We did a lap and then once he had lifted his spirits ( and his lip!!!! ) he had another turn well worded up that he would have to get off once the man blew the whistle!!!!! He still was not impressed at the fact it was over!!!! He had a turn on the chair ride that went round and round which was making me dizzy just watching!!!! After that we left Blake and Baz to finish up on a few rides and we took Kai home to bed as he was really tired after a big day.

On Sunday Kai went and spent the day with Josh which we was wrapped about!! They went to the plaza and he took his wallet which Kell said he put down and forgot at one point ...!! So typical!!! although he is getting better with looking after his goodies!!! I gave him a few dollars to get something so once he came back he showed me his matchbox car and some stickers he bought!! He told me all about his day and how he had so much fun with Josh!

Once Kell dropped him off he quietened right down and I went to check on him after he sat on the couch for 5 minutes to find.................................................................................................

Whew what a day!!!!!!

On Monday it was back to creche after 2 weeks off, he was a little hesitant but saw Fui and was straight into playing cars. We had a kiss goodbye and I told him Tate would be there soon and as we hadn't seen him for almost 3 weeks Kai was wrapped to hear that!! When I went to get him after work he told me that he saw Tate and that Bree had already come and got him! We also collected his scrapbook from the year and it has some great paintings and gluing jobs..

On Wednesday night Bree and Tate came to have a sleep over as Braeden was working away. Daddy and Blake had dinner with us first we had yummy fish and chips as it was a hot 38 degree day it was perfect fish and chip weather!! Then Bree, Tate and the dog (Stella's brother!!) Koopa arrived.. Tate was in his PJ's so Kai got changed and we pulled out the sofa bed and the boys hopped in there to watch Toy Story. They mucked around for a while but then Tate fell asleep and Kai wasn't too far behind him!!

Yesterday we had a lazy day and didn't do too much Tate and Kai played the Playstation for a little while they both played Cars and did quite well maneuvering the controls. Bree and Tate left in the afternoon and Kai and I layed down for a rest, I caught 40 winks then got up to some cleaning! Mass and Blake arrived and we decided to go to the plaza for some late night shopping. Kai was still asleep so after a good 3 hour sleep we decided we could wake him!! He wasn't so sure and took a bit to totally wake up!! Poor boy! He was happy once we got there and he chose out some great singlet tops and new spiderman jock-shorts.

Last night the boys stayed at Mass' and I got a bit of a sleep in!! We decided to go out to Portsea to see the fort. We did it a couple of years ago when Kai was really young but we walked it which is about 7kms all up. Today we caught the passenger tractor which was much nicer on the legs!!! As when you get off there is still some walking to do to see things and places!! The boys enjoyed it and it was definitely good exercise, especially the one killer lot of 115 stairs down to the beach!! whew!!

After our big afternoon we decided to go to do some Ten Pin Bowling. Kai did really well and came second in the first game and then came in close behind Blake in the second game!!!

We had a nice weekend, we went to the beach on Saturday, it wasn't a stinking hot day but it was nice about 28 I think it got to. We got down there at about 11am and stayed there till about 4pm! Blake and Kai had a ball and then Shanei and Mingo came so the kids were non stop swimming. Then Shan, Hemi, Jess, Kerri and the 2 boys Tyrone and Kaya came down from the city, Blake was in his element with the Skim Board! I think he was on it for hours!!

Daddy and Blake had the snorkels and Kai was riding on dadda's back, he thought it was a great game to hold onto the snorkel or pour water in them!! Cheeky Monkey!!!

We had some pies and sausage rolls for lunch and did more swimming and playing in the sand!

We got back to Mass' and cooled of naughty mummy didn't re-apply sunscreen to herself and got very burnt legs, and is feeling sorry for herself!!! hehe

We had Sundae and Matt up with the kids for dinner and Mingo also as he was leaving the next day back to Sydney.We had a yummo BBQ and then I took the tired Kaitiaki home to bed Blake stayed with Mass for the night to play Xbox!!!!!

Last night we had a quiet one we went up to Sundae and Matt's for a while Kai and Jaelyn played doctors as they love to!!!!!! We came back as Kai was buggered and really needs to catch up on sleep!!!!!!!!!

Today we have welcomed in the new year with a relaxing morning we went to the plaza for a quick look and got Blake some cool shorts and a topthat he chose out. Then went and hired some Playstation games and Kai wanted to watch Barnyard so we got that too and the boys are watching it now.

Well thats it for now we are off to Phillip Island at some stage this week so will report back on that!!!

Non Stop Fun..!!

After a really relaxing day of getting to know the new Playstation games Kai got for Christmas we decided to venture out on Wednesday. As it was a nice day and apart from mass amounts of traffic on our normally quiet roads we decided to have fish and chips at Sorrento Park. We got a table which we were suprised at as it was so busy, there were people everywhere. Kai had a ball and after eating too much again!! We went for a walk down to the beach and around park.

We then made our way back home and planned for an early night as we had an early morning to go and get Blake from the airport in the morning.!

Kai was in bed so we set the alarm for 5.30am and went to sleep!!!!

In the morning Mass woke Kai up and he was up and at em' he was excited about going to get his cousin.!! We had a good drive to the airport and got there about 7.30am. Kai was awake the whole way to the airport athough it was easy to see he was tired he was too excited about the airport and his cousin!!!!

We went and had McDonalds for breakfast and then went down to the arrivals area to wait. The plane landed 10 minutes early so we were eagerly up the front waiting to see Blake come through the doors!!!!!

Once we saw him come through Kai was wrapped to walk up and see his cousin!! Which is the name Blake has been given by Tiaki!! "my cousin" "where my cousin" "my cousin, what are you doing?" On the way home we had 2 sleepy boys in the back seat oh yeah and the big sleepy boy in the front seat..!! So it was just me and the radio some of the way!!! We made it home at about 10.15am and just relaxed for the day, we went up to see Sundae and had some yummo lunch there then in the afternoon we had a rest. Well tried to! Tiaki didn't want a sleep he was charged up and full of beans!!

Kai opened his Christmas present from Nanny Rea and Pa Rich, he got an awesome Superman hooded towel, a cool Lightening McQueen Book and a cool as All Blacks top, which has "All Black In Training" on the back. Very cute!!!!!!

When we went up to Sundae's we had spoken about going to the carnival as they had happy hour between 6-7pm so we got ready for that and headed down there... with Kai and Blake stocked up with tickets we caught up with Sundae, Matt, Mingo, Baz and all the girls.. Kai wanted the big jumping castle first so he was off!!! then the next jumping castle..!! Then he hopped on the dogem cars with Blake and wasnt too impressed with that, he did well and hung in there for a while but wanted off so he got out and Blake carried on..!! Then we went on the merri-go-round with Jaelyn and Charlize. That was nice and mellow!!! He then got another go in the jumping castle thing for ages with the girls. He then had seen Blake on the Trampolene so wanted a turn on that!! He loved it he even did a somersault!!! OMG!!!

Kai went on the big inflated slide with his last tickets and ended up hurting his finger which could hve been quite a lot worse so thankfully he had jarred it and it wasnt too bad just a bit sore..

Today we have been chilling out a bit Mass took the kids to the school to play some basketball and then we made pizzas for dinner, Blake helped make a hawaiian pizza and a bbq chicken pizza.. they were yummoo...!!!!

Thats it for today tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day not too hot so we might go to the beach for a while and play ball etc...

Wow what a night the rain was the best early morning Christmas gift of all !!!

Kaitiaki herd the second downpour and woke with a fright at about 7.15am!! He came into our bed and took some time to realise that it was Christmas! After he did though he wanted out to the lounge room!!!

He was so excited and got the knack of finding his name on the presents and then opening them!! It was so much fun and he had a ball and enjoyed each present before the next! The funniest had to be Buzz Lightyear, when Santa (daddy) was bringing them out in the big santa sack last night trying to be quiet all we could hear was 'I am Buzz Lightyear and I come in peace",'I have a laser and I am not afraid to use it.!!' So we had the giggles! Then this morning when Kai went and picked it up it started again!! He was a little taken a-back but then realised who it was all wrapped up and got straight into it!!

After a massive present fest we had the fun job of undoing it all from the packages which is no easy task even with patience and scissors! We got Kai's train set up and going which is an extension to the one he got for his birthday. He gets so much enjoyment out of it and can spend a good couple of hours playing on it!

Then after mummy checking that all the batteries were charged ooopss forgot the camera ones, so the camera was in light use today!!! Damn it Damn it!!!

We then headed up to Sundae's to see the cuzzies, that was heaps of fun and got very spoilt with a stocking full of goodies and a couple of presents to open as well.! And we got a christmas cuddle with baby Ngaira also.!!

After all that excitement we headed to Pa's to get lunch organised.. Kai had a ball running in and out and playing with the dogs for a while then, Mackenzie and Zac arrived so there were more kids to play with!!! We all sat down to a HUGE lunch of Roast Pork with yummo crackle and Chicken with Dadda's yummo stuffing.. Heaps of Roast vegies and carrots and greens yummoooo....

We let lunch settle for a little while and then Josh and Lilly arrived with Aunty Kell, so Uncle Shaun was crowned Santa and handed out all the presents, the kids had a ball opening them all and see what they all got!!

We then stuffed ourselves with desserts consisting of Truffles, Shortbreads, Chocolate Ripple Cake, Tiramisu, and of course the Christmas pudding with cream or custard!!!! So oh boy are we all full!!!

All we did after that was blob around for a while and the kids played with their toys for ages and Kai and Zak had a go on the Playstation with the new game of 'Cars' from Uncle Shaun and Emily (A.K.A Eb-erleey!!!!)

We went out and checked out the Christmas lights tonight, we took the cuzzies, Shanei and Jaelyn as well ans they just loved it.... There was drizzling rain but that couldn't stop us.. the screams from the back were gorgeous, 'more Mel' , ' I see them' , ' more lights Mummy' , "look at da lights dadda" was just lovely!!! The kids got to see santa also and got a lolly, it was very exciting.. By the time we could go there so it was at least dark enough it was 9pm so we didn't leave for about 40 mins so on the way home Jaelyn crashed out and Kai was so close behind her!! We dropped the girls off and said 'see you in the morning'!!

Yesterday afternoon we went and saw Junie, Kai got a great keyboard with a mic, he has had a ball playing and singing along, mainly all christmas carols!!! hehe

Well we shall be back with more updates and full bellies tomorrow night!!

O this is Christmas....

What a busy busy time of year.. Last Friday we went to our Christmas Party for our mums group at a great park in Sorrento. We did Kris Kringle which was great and the kids really enjoyed it. It was a little bit chilly but moved tables so we were in the sun and able to enjoy it with a rug on the ground!!!

Kai struggled to get the concept that we would be GIVING a present to Jayden and was convinced that Jayden would open it and then Kai would share it with him!!! hehe

Here are some pics of the kids waiting patiently for their presents and another of Kai getting stuck into it!!!

After we had finished up there we had to make our way to the Creche Christmas Party. Kai was excited to see all his friends outside the creche environment!! He had great fun with Kim Fui running around on the oval like mad!! Then Santa arrived and all the kids swarmed him!!! Kai was a bit unsure but got in there in the safety of the other kids and got a gift!!

On Monday we went to creche early as mummy had to go and have an ultrasound to see the baby brother or sister 'in the belly'! And here is a pic from the scan!!

Tuesday we made shortbreads and chocolates for the girls at creche Kai had fun using the shape cutters making christmas trees and stars!!!!!
Tate also left to go see his Nanny and Pa in WA so we will miss him for a couple of weeks. We went there on Saturday night and had dinner with them before they left and the boys exchanged presents. Kai got a great HotWheels trucks to carry all his cars in and a great set of walkie talkies which he is getting the knack of!!

That's been about all so far this week, trying to get the rest of the Christmas shopping done and look forward to spending time with Kai over the next couple of weeks.

Tomorrow we are off to see Junie for Christmas as she is wont be here for Christmas day.

We are also looking forward to Blake arriving from New Zealand next week and then Nanny and Ronpa back from Tasmania on the 15th HOORAY so much exciting stuff happening!!!!

Scorching Summer....

Well as the title suggests we had a scorching hot day today, we topped 40 degrees C down this way..... Whew it was HOT HOT HOT... We left for the beach at about 11am and got straight in the water. Stella had a ball swimming around flat out, might I say she has been totally crashed out since we got back!!!! It was lovely when we left the beach this afternoon as the change was coming through and the tempereature dropped really quickly. Hopefully in for a good night sleep after a HOT 35 yesterday it was a horrible sticky night.

Also a HUGE THANKYOU and best wishes out to the firefighters fighting fires in the Alps and Gippsland areas... The smokey conditions around here are mild compared to what the fireys must be facing. We have been explaining to Kai how dangerous fires are and the devistation it can cause, after seeing so much of it on the news at the moment he has been asking some questions and he was worried about the kangaroos that you could see running through the smouldering ashes.. So Kai is also very thankful to the Firemen and women.

Since we last updated Kai has still been busily jumping on the trampoline any chance he gets !!!! Even in his jamies!!!

On Thursday we had Tate and so we decided to make playdough with Kate's recipe (thanks!!) The boys had heaps of fun helping make it and chose to have blue playdough... As soon as it was ready to play with we sat down to watch ABC kids and Playschool was on, and they were making playdough!!! It was quite funny and the boys were impressed!!!

On Friday we went to the looonnnggg awaited Charlotte's Web, this was an all time favorite movie for me when I was a kid and Kai was so excited to be going to see it I think we started counting down since last week!!!! We went to Mc Donalds for lunch first and then headed to the 1pm screening. Kai was hooked from the begining!! He loved it and got quite upset when Charlotte died, he started crying and ended up wiping his eyes with his tshirt, was just adorable as Nan said it is lovely that at 3 years old he is sensitive and does have feelings and felt for Wilbur the pig who lost his friend. He had me tearing up!!!!

EXCITING NEWS - Blake arrives on the 28th of Dec and here for 3 weeks, Kai is so excited his cousin is coming here!!!! Will be so nice to see him again.. Last time we saw him was in 2003 so I bet he is all grown up!!! Looking forward to it...

Munch and Crunch!

Yay Chrisco arrived and Kai is most deffinately in Chrisco heaven!!!!! He got the kids hamper and the kids freezer hamper so he is set!!!! He is getting stuck right into the chips and lollies, when ever he can!!! We started a advent calendar it is the Disney Cars one although he hasn't got the whole idea that it is only one a day!!!

Yesterday we had a day outside and got out in the garden.. Kai is also struggling with the fact that the tomatoes have to stay on the tree till they get nice and big!!!! He is very tempted to get them off now and they are just not quite ready... I cant wait till they are ready to go... There is nothing like fresh homegrown tomatoes!! Before our gardening crazed afternoon we went to Mc Donalds (or Mc Dougals as Kai calls it!!) for breakfast.. Kai had more fun chatting up a little girl and running around like mad with her.!! When we got home th gardening began.. It was a nice day after some morning rain so were able to get it done, Kai had a ball outdoors as per usual!!! Today Kai got his trampoline that Pa got him for his birthday, we finially went and picked it up... Its deffinately a winner thats for sure..!!! I was a bit worried about him falling off as the one at creche and at Tates house are in the ground but he has really taken to it and has a ball!!!! No stopping him ... well for a little while till the legs get sore!!! Then ................. rest time ...................!!!!

Well on the weekend we went to Lachlan's first birthday (mummies cousin!) before the party we went to the Pet and Pony expo. We took Stella and she had so much fun meeting other dogs and people.. by the end of it she was stuffed and sat down any chance she got.!! poor girl!! We waited in line for ages to get Kai's face painted but it was well worth it the lady was amazing and took a lot of pride in her work.. Kai was wrapped with his new face!!!!

After we had finished there we headed to the birthday it was such a lovely day ... nice and warm so we sat outside for the bbq lunch there was heap of yummy food to eat and trying to get Kai and Josh to sit and eat their lunch rather than run around chasing one another was difficult!!!!
Lachlan looked like he was having fun checkin out what all the kids were up to all afternoon!!!

On Monday we went to Pa's to wish him a Happy Birthday and stayed for dinner, Kai spent most of his time next door gass bagging or in Pa's bus!!!! I am sure once again Pa will have to go in search to find anything!!! hehe

Today we had a 'stay in' day it was quite nice actually. I had to get the Christmas Puddings done so I put them on by about 11am and got them boiling away for the day..!! This afternoon the house was getting a xmas pudding smell about it sooo yummy!!!! We also did some cleaning/eating !! as Chrisco arrives tomorrow so we really had to make some room!!!

Kai just couldnt wait for the end of the puddings!!!!! Too hard!

Then we just realaxed for the afternoon or what was left of it!! We had our jamies on early and were ready for bed!!! Kai is right into reading at the moment so he likes to lay on the couch for a while before bed and read me a story!! What a cutie..!

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas...

On Saturday we got up and went to the Boneo Market which wasn't too bad didnt really need a lot so just had a browse, Tiaki spotted some handmade Dinosaur tails where you hop into an elastic waist and have a tail off the end!!! He was in love and wore it the whole way around Mass and I were laughing.. Then he wanted to go in to the farm animal enclosure so Mass took him in (the photos are not the greatest as they were on my mobile!!) He was feeding all of them like mad and even got a headbutt from the goat!!! Tiaki was very excited to get a turn at feeding the calf!!

We left the market and headed up to Santa's Place Kai was in absolute heaven from the moment we drove in the driveway!!!!! As soon as we headed inside there was a mooses head on the wall which was motion activated and greeted us as we walked in, from there it was a Christmas Wonderland.... There was everthing and anything you could imagine for the festive season. Kai was hooked a the display of the moving miniture scenes of christmas.. He was dart in here and around there and truely just happy to browse and see all there was to see....!!!!!

On Sunday we didn't do too much it was starting to heat up for a hot week... we pottered around the garden and Kai helped me water and feed all the plants..

Last night we went for a walk with Daddy and the dogs to the beach it was so nice the sun was still quite warm and Kai was stripped down to his jocks for a dip!!! He was charging up and back with the dogs having a ball!!!! Kai plays this game where he hides (gives us a heart attack) and he have to try and find him in the bushes or anywhere he thought was a good hiding spot!! We walked back and then headed off to Pa's .... Uncle Shaun was teasing the dogs and thought it was funny to get Stella and Sally growling at each other!!! Although Jack from next door kept stealing the balls and taking them next door so no one could have them!! Kai made his own fun in Pa's bus finding all sorts of good fun things to play with..... ! I cant imagine Pa finding anythig in a hurry!!!

Today we have Tate we decided to make Thomas the Tank cupcakes we didnt have and eggs so we walked to the milkbar and got some we got back and started baking. The boys were very helpful in making and eating them!!!! This afternoon I was getting the washing in and came inside to see then finishing off the last crumbs of ALL the cupcakes!!! And Tate was so proud 'We Ate Them All Mel!!!!!!' hehehehe have to laugh!!!

We have put up the Christmas Tree a little early this year but after Santa's Place on the weekend it is all I have heard about!!!! Kai was having so much fun unpacking the decorations!! So all done..!! Stella keeps trying to escape with the odd bauble so we have to watch her!! hehehe

We got Tiaki's creche photos back yesterday there are some really cute ones ... they did both black and white and colour!!! Stella had given him a nice scratch the day before so he had an injury! damn!!!!

Well two boys are sleeping on the couch so I am going to get some tidying up done before Tate is picked up!!!

Oh and YAY HIP HIP HOORAY Nanny and Ronpa are coming back to live in January HOORAY HOORAY we can't wait to give Nanny and Ronpa a big cuddle...... not long now............

Playcentre fun fun fun...

Yesterday we had a cruzy day we went to Kmart with Lynne and baby Luke. Tate and Kai were good boys the whole way around sitting in the trolley while we had a look about.! It nice to get out after a bit of miserable weather over the past few days..

Then we came home and Tate and Kai sat down and did some colouring in while watching a movie (very multi talented!!)

Today Bree and Tate came around and we went to the playcente and the boys had a ball we met up with some other girls from our mums group.... we have a Christmas party in a couple of weeks for the kids at Sorrento Park which will be nice and with so many of us we decided this year to do a Kris Kringle which I think is a great idea!!!! So we are looking forward to that... Hopefully it will be a nice day!!!

Fun with Friends

Didn't get up to too much today, being a public holiday and not the greatest day weather wise we decided to brave the wind and the possibility of rain and wander down to the Plaza.. The timing was great as there were not too many people around!!! We had a good wander and Kai thought that the dogs at Pets Paradise were just an absolute highlight!!! We saw Erin with Tay at Target who has only got 8 weeks to go and looks great. Tate and Kai thought she was a lil cutie but were very jealous she wasnt strapped into something on wheels like they were!!!!!
Just before we headed back towards home Kai fell asleep and slept the whole way home and then I popped him into bed and he slpt til just after 6 pm!!!

On Sunday morning Nanna Junie popped in and we were telling Junie about the fish tank and that a man came and took the rocks and the anenome ....... (Kai was quite concerned about a chinese man entering the house and collecting the rocks and some water !!!!) He could not work it out!!! So he then went on to tell Nan that we are not getting a Nemo this time we are getting a 'gold- fush' (yup, said the kiwi way!!!) Nan and I were cracking up at the little Massey !!! hahaha I then asked him to count and sure enough ....... four , five , siux !!!!! cheeky monkey!! even all the aussiness around him!!!! lol

Playstation Pro!!

Well mum made it back from Queensland safely!! Kai was really glad to finally see me and woke up when I got home at 2.30am saying 'you came back mummy' ..
On Monday morning we had to get up and get back into it which was hard after not seeing each other so I left a little bit earlier to pick him up from creche early..... Kai was wrapped to get some QLD goodies he got a snake that slithers along and a few other souvenirs.
We talked for ages and he was so excited to tell me about his day with Lynne on Thursday out in the garden and helping with baby Luke. He also was gasbagging away about having dinner with Olivia.!!!
He was also excited to tell me about his sleep over at Tates on Thursday night...!! And still had a dry night at a big sleep over HOORAY!!! Bree told me that Braeden freaked out to hear Kai get up and go to the toilet and then toddle off to bed again in the middle of the night!!!!
BTW the night time toileting is going fantastic, he has just taken it upon himself and have barely had a handful of accidents in a cpl of months now..... YIPPEE!!

On Tuesday we had a relaxing day at home and Chantal and baby Sienna came around for a coffee. Tiaki even had a hold of Sienna which he was most impressed about until she started crying!!
On Thursday and yesterday we had Tate on thursday we did some much needed shopping and the boys were most helpful!! we stopped into the new plaza where we have many more exciting shops and TARGET!!!! yay!! Kai was very lucky and got a new "Cars" car to add to the collection... he finally got Filmore!!! so Exciting for a 3 year old!!! and when I was in QLD I was able to find him a Blue Dinoco Lightning McQueen!!!

Today we went down to kmart and target and had a look at Playstations then ended up getting one from the new store EB Games we got a really good deal so Kai is now hooked and sussed out the controls quite quickly, he is mad on the "cars" game and it is really quite well done!!!

Welcome Baby Ngaira

Congrats to Matt and Sundae and the cuzzies on their new daughter and sister - baby girl #4 Ngaira Valentine, 6 weeks early ... gorgeous lil healthy looking bubs...

Just a quick one mum's off to Queensland today so wont be posting for a lil bit... Last night we went and saw baby Ngaira and Sun and Matt. What a gorgeous lil bubs, she is a lil trooper and looks so healthy considering she is so early. Sad she is in the crib and Sun has little contact at the moment but she looked nice and warm and sleeping it up after a huge day!!

Well will be back with Kais big sleep over and play day adventures while mums away when I get back!!!

Hot Hot Hot Hot!!!!!

Well again we have been having some really nice days lately... Summer is a comin!!!!
Last week we even got the pool out and spent a great deal of the day out in the sun.. with Tate and Jaelyn was good fun. Now we have brown lil boy after just one day in the sun slip slop slapped!!

On Friday we went to Planet Kids, play centre to organise our mums group christmas party the kids had a ball asthe mummies discussed and drank coffee and discussed and ate lunch and more coffee's!! We decided to do a Chris Kringle this year and a set $ amount on each chile with 7 kids it was quite the welcome idea!!!! Kai and the other kids played really well and had a go at everything... up and down the play equipment and on the bikes racing each other!!!!!!!!
Once we got back there were two tired boys so mummy and Bree were able to wash the cars!!!

Kai got a great big parcel last week and was so excited to get it open, it was from Nanny and Pa Rich (and again had to explain the whole plane thing!! Although when ever we see a plane he says Nanny up there so I am sure he still thinks you are floating up somewhere in a plane until you come back!!! heheh)! !! Once inside there was lots of oowwhh and ahhhhh's!!!! Loads of excitement!!!! It's a BATMOBILE!!!!!!! Even mummy and daddy get on on the remote control and do some high speed action menouvers!!!!!

On Tuesday we went for a big walk again with Lynne and bubs and Chantal and bubs. Was such a nice warm day too mummy got quite burnt shoulders.. We walked from home to Subway and then to the fruit and vegie shop and then all the way home again... By the time we got half way home Kai was crashed out asleep and transfered to bed nicely for another hour or so..!!

We had Tate here today and played nicely mummy even ventured out with 2 boys in tow and SURVIVED!!!! We went and did some grocery shopping and then popped into the chemist and got our first christmas gift sorted!!! Yay check one off the list!!!! Also got some more suncream after Kai thought that stella wouls like it more that him!!!

Well thats about all for now.. Back for an update earlier in the week next week hopefully as mummy is off to Queensland on Thurday...... Might be able to get daddy to update if we are lucky..!!!

Taking It Easy.....

Today and yesterday are both 30 + degree days so we are trying to keep cool, although with summer approaching I am sure we are in store for some real schorchers.. We have Tate here today so hopefully will get outside in the sun for a little while while it is not too hot..... It is quite windy out there tho so will have to hold on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kai is still photo taking mad and has gathered some great shots on his wanders!!

He also LOVES having his photo taken and does all sorts of happy, sad, grumpy, funny faces!!!!

On Tuesday Lynne and baby Luke and Chantal and baby Sienna came around and we ended up going for a massive walk. Kai was great and sat in the pram the whole way it was great then stopped at Subway and had some lunch.... Then walkk all the way back, it was quite a nice day and got quite a bit of sun on my face and nack... ooppps thankfully Kai was lathered on suncream.. We came back and Kai let off all the energy he had saved while sitting on the walk!!!!!!!!

Play Centre and Park Fun !!!!!!!

On Thursday we went to the play centre. Kais friend Tate comes around for the day while his mum is at work and it was such a rainy day where we couldnt get outside so I decided the Play centre was the best place. Thankfully we were there by 10.30am as I think alot of other mums had the same idea!!!

The boys had a ball and played really nicely. They rode the bikes had a jump on jumping castle, kicked and threw balls in the net and generally went crazy running around.!!!!
By the time we got home we had some lunch read a story and they were so worn out asleep in no time!!!!
When they (and I!!!) woke up we watched Garfield AGAIN and got half an hour or so in the sandpit before Bree came to get Tate.
Yesterday we didn't get up to too much we went to Kmart and did a little bit of shopping and had a yummy hot dog from Wendy's!!! Last night night we had a relaxing one and decided that with a forcasted great day we would go to Sorrento Park and have a BBQ lunch..
This morning Kai and I went shopping and got all the groceries for our bbq and spoke to Bree and see what she was bringing.. We went home and made a yummy Potato Salad and got all the goodies organised.!!
Thinking it was going to be a lovely day we thought we should get there a little bit early to get a table and also a Barbie.... We got there in great timing and got a great table and we able to get a bbq we had so much food but the kids were hungry so tucked in first then they went off to play and we sat down to lunch. It was yunno and we were all absolutely full by the end...

Tonight we have got Over The Hedge to watch which Kai saw at the movies with daddy but he can watch anything 100 times!!!!!!! So thats it time to relax...!!

Pals and Pooches...

Well after all the excitement and hype of the news and many congratulations from everyone, (thankyou, thankyou) it all about the long haul now and I am sure Kai cannot work out why it is taking so long already!!!!!!!!

We have just had a taste of Summer today and Kai got into some shorts and a short sleeve top and managed it all day without the threat of a downpour or change in weather - typical Melbourne weather!!!
Today at creche they celebrated their 1st birthday as the newly named centre, so they had a teddy bears picnic and had cake and played party games... all sounded like so much fun!!!
We came home and Shanei and Jaelyn came around for a play. They went out in the sandpit for a while and then came in to play a game of 'memory' so cool having them just up the road Kai loves it!!! and the sandpit is deffinately a hit!!!! (Especially with Stella who thinks it is her digging pit!!!)

We had to say good bye to Nanny Rea again at least it wasnt so sad this time as Kai was not allowed to go to the airport!!!!!!!! We had a lovely lunch before Mass and Rea left for the airport.. Was very nice..

Kai's newest craze is using mum's camera and I am sure he knows how to use it better than I do!! I will upload a few of his masterpieces as well!!!

We have BIG news in the household... and for those who dont know we were getting around to it but couldn't make a post without the announcement!!..............................

We have to laugh at Kai, since he knows he eats his dinner and says 'awww mummy full belly, its da baby in my belly' !!!!

On othere news.... Kaitiaki is wrapped to have Nanny back and always has to know her whereabouts.!!! They have had some lovely days together and the weather has really been putting on a show!!! Had quite a few wet days but just as many gorgeous sunny ones come through.

We shared a great Fathers Day with dad the other weekend and went to an awesome park. We packed a bbq lunch which we cooked there and Kai played on the playground. it was a fab day although the weather could have been better it was a nice day out.

Well mum has been a bit slack on the posting here, but a catch up is in order....

We've been having some lazy days......

But also some non-stop days!!!.........

We have Nanny Rea coming back on Wednesday ... yay After a VERY difficult goodbye when they left, Tiaki is very excited that Nanny is coming back!!

Kai is right into getting the mail at the moment and with all his friends from out Mothers group with birthdays around the same time the letterbox always has an invite or something for him and he gets really excited! Nana and Ronpa sent over a BIG parcel the other week which was good fun. He sat there for quite a while getting into the parcel!!! Once it was open he got out a HUGE dinosaur Nana had made for him. He was in LOVE and took it to bed for his afternoon sleep!!!

Tiaki has been looking after his fish well and likes to feed them when he can and check out what they are up to..
Stella is growing up so fast. Her and Kai are real pals, they go out the backyard and Kai will play cars while Stella watches or just layzes around near him! So very cute.!
Tori is being her mischivious self and keeps going back to the old house, 6 months later!!! She is one crazy cat!!!! She went missing again last Sunday and we found her there finally on Thursday.. Kai was really happy to see her.

On Tuesday we went for a bike ride and Kai sat in his trailer that is hitched to the bike... It was a great ride along the beach track. We met up with Aunty Kell and Lilly at the park and then went over to the bakery for coffee and lunch then rode home. On the way home we stopped at the beach and had fun with someone elses sand castle they left behind.!!! It was so nice to be able to sit in the sun on the beach again!!!

Tonight we are off to the R.S.L for dinner with daddy, they have a kids night there with a band for the kids and face panting etc... Should be great. Loads of fun... Tomorrow is Fathers Day so we are hoping to go to for the train ride again....

Bithday Party Jumping..

What a great day, we had so much fun jumping even Mum and Dad got in for a jump! (Whew what a work out!! Just as good as gym!!)
They weather was perfect and all the kids had a ball.... as did the Birthday Boys Kai and Tate...

We had loads of yummy food, Nana Junes Sponge was a hit with the adults and the chocolate crackles gobbled up by the kids. Shanei was a winner doing face painting!
By the afternoon the boys were almost all jumped out but were able to get in another half an hour before it was collected for the day.

Mummy worked Monday but Tiaki had a great day with Nanny Rea and Pa Rich had quite the relaxing day after a huge day on Sunday!!!! We went and saw Tate for his birthday, which Tiaki found very hard to come to terms with that it wasnt his birthday again!!!

On Tuesday we had another big day this time shopping in Frankston where we bought Tiaki some clothes at mummies favorite cheapy shop 'Savers' even Daddy, Nanny Rea and Pa Rich got some bargins. Then we wandered through the rest of the shopping centre and then finally sat down for a late lunch to eat McDonalds.. yummoo!! Go those shopping shoes!! Then Tiaki wanted to catch the bus back with Nanny Rea and Pa Rich so Daddy and Mummy drove back and collected some additions to the fish tank (must take some new pics as it is relly looking nice now) we got some more snails and crabs to keep the tank clean of algae.

On Wednesday night we went to Nana Junies for tea, we had yummy Potato pie and chicken, salad, yum yum yum and for dessert Nan made Apple Pie and a chocolate pudding. mmmm

Yesterday we had another lazy day at home much like today. The weather hasn't been fantastic with showers on and off most of the time so it has been real indoors weather, we have been doing loads of puzzles and playing cars.. all the goodies the birthday boy got!

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY KAITIAKI......

We had a great day yesterday for Tiaki. He absolutely knew all about having a birthday!! On Tuesday it was all we heard about - "it's Tiakis birf-day tomorrow" !! Very cute!!
He had a huge day up early at about 6.30 - 7 and came running in to mummy, "Mummy WAKE UP its Tiakis birf-day and I see pwessants" hehe He got stuck straight into them and was so excited to see all sort of great gifts. He got great a great Thomas doona cover from Nana Rea and Pa Rich, also got a great Car Doona Cover and Cars magnets from Nanny and Ronpa. Also got his first 2 wheeler from Nanny Rea and Pa Rich which is so awesome and he is really getting the hang of.
Mummy and Daddy got for him a Thomas the Tank Train Set which is a real winner and has gone through some batteries so far!!

We have had so much fun so far having Nanny Rea and Pa Rich stay with us. We've had some lovely pyjama mornings and enjoyed some really nice sunny days.
On Sunday we have the big Birthday Party, a joint one with Tate the birthday boy too!! There will be a big 'Wiggles' jumping castle so hopefully the weather stays as nice for then also.

Mummy and her ebay crazyiness got a great Thomas the Tank table so that Tiaki can have his set up and play which is a great idea. He is not laying on the floor and knocking it over all the time for mummy and daddy to repair!

Wow how time flies!

We are still here just have been slack on the updates!! Wow heaps to report. We got our Nemo fish just after we got back from Tassie, they are really at home and have coped well with the new tank. We also got an anenome (just like the movie!!) which the fish rarely come out from! Tiaki has great joy in feeding them although sometimes that means he can feed them when ever he is passing I am sure one day I will walk out to a tank full of fish food!

We had another cooking day where Kaitiaki made some scrummy Thomas The Tank cupcakes!! He did an awsome job and then helped Mummy make some Afgans! We spent alot of the time eating the mixture and icing!! Tiaki loved being able to lick the chocolate mixture from the beater the most!! Highlight of the day!

On the 20th May we went to pick up the new puppy 'Stella' Kai was really excited although such a long drive I had thoughts it would be hard to keep him awake! We went and saw Mitch first and went out for lunch where Kai played on a great play slide etc.. We left Mitch's in the afternoon and head off to collect Stella.
On the drive Kai was trying hard to stay awake but he was drifting off! We arrived at the breeders house and there was no waking Tiaki (Once he is asleep, he is asleep) pity as there were cows and chooks so he really would have been in him element besides the 9 puppies!!!!
We collected Stella and headed home. On the way home Tiaki woke up and was so thrilled to see Stella and held her the rest of the way home!

Stella is now 10 weeks old and she absolutely adores Tiaki, they get up to real mischief and drive mum wild but it is all good fun. She has fitted in quite well and has been going to obedience and suprises me how quickly she learns.
Tate has Stella's brother who they have named Koopa, so when he catch up for a play day we have puppy play also!! Crazy stuff 2 two year olds and 2 puppies!!!! ahhhh

We celebrated mummies birthday in which Tiaki was convinced it was his birthday, he was telling everyone all day! So it's taken a bit of convincing but he knows his birthday is soon!!
Tiaki is hooked on Thomas the Tank at the moment, well trains really so secretly mummy put away a wooden Thomas the Tank train set for his birthday at the big Kmart sale so looking forward to how excited he will be about that!

We went and saw Cars at the cinema last week it was a great movie and Kaitiaki and Tate were in awe of the big screen and popcorn, lollies etc..! Since then I haven't heard anything but about the characters, Lightning Macqueen and Mater etc..!! Keeping up the the latest animations is quite a job!

We got exciting news that Nanny Rea and Pa Rich are coming over for Tiaki's birthday so we will be looking forward to that, not long now really, as the year flies past at greater speeds.

Today we went to the library where they have story time for pre-schoolers on Thursdays. We used to go when Tiaki was a bit younger but he couldnt sit still for 5 minutes to listen to the story and ended up disrupting all the other kiddies trying to listen. Finally we really enjoyed it and even did craft afterwards which used to send Mummy into a meltdown although we really enjoyed the cutting and pasting today to create a lovely sheep.
Then we headed over to the park with Lynne anf Olivia, the clouds looked a little scary but held off enough to get a good play in and for Mummy and Lynne to catch up with a cappacino!!
Tonight we read a couple of our books we borrowed from the library, of course one of them was Thomas The Tank, but Kai is also mad on the Jungle at the moment so we got a book all about Jungle Animals which was entertaining!

Tomorrow we are going to give Stella her first bath and hopefully catch up with Tate and Bree. We haven't been to visit the toy library since before Tassie also so hopefully can make it there to borrow some toys..

Back into the swing of things!!

WARNING - LONG POST!!!!!

We arrived safely home from Tassie 2 weeks ago tomorrow (Wednesday) so we have been keeping busy catching up with everyone and getting back to normal. Amazing that even a week away can throw us out of whack!

We had such a great time in Tassie with Nana and Ronpa!
Here is a pic of Kaitiaki with Grant and Zeb from when they came to visit..

After a big arvo playing with the boys Kaitiaki did what he loves best, cuddled up with Junie and watch a movie (Ice Age - a favorite at the moment after going to the big screen with daddy to see Ice Age 2!!!)

On Monday (after my last post) we went to Richmond a lovely old Georgian village which wasn't too far from Mum and Ron's house. We had a great time with the ducks and watching others misfortune with the geese!!! They put on quite a show pecking at a poor family trying to rest up on a rock!!!

We had a lovely lunch and went to a beautiful bakery where we got some very slimming cakes!!!! Kai enjoyed a yummy cake too!!! Kai found a friend along our wander - a cute sheep that bleeted out whenever Tiaki walked away from it!!! Was very cute!
We wandered up to the Richmond bridge which is just lovely stone/brick Kai and Ron went and stood up and waved down to us, while Nana and Junies tummies went over while Kai tried to stand on the railing (hehehe)

On Tuesday we went and did a little shopping although it was Anzac day so there wasn't a lot open so we just browsed and then made our way back to Nana and Ronpa's where Mummy played hairdressers with Nana!! we were absolute sights, with lovely floral aprons and foils in hair here there and everywhere.!!

On Wednesday we flew home from Hobart and had a great flight although it was a bit delayed.. Kai again hollered once we landed 'we did it'!!! We rang for our bus so we could collect the car and then drove home.
We had so much fun at Nana and Ronpa's, and we miss them so much. Thankfully they have the internet now and they can see us on the webcam hooray!!!!!
Daddy met us at our house so we could get in as he had been looking after Tori who has escaped again after all that!! She made her way back to the old house again!!!

Kaitiaki spent the weekend with daddy which was a terribly wet and miserable weekend - winter certainly is on its way!! Mummy had a visit with her Doula client and secretly made plans to go look at puppies!! Just as I was about to leave I got a call to say Tiaki had, had a fall off a chair with Mass at McDonald's and he had hit his nose which was swelling up, not much you can do but keep an eye on him and try to get some ice on it for the swelling. Knowing Kai there was no chance of getting ice anywhere near it.!! It is much much better now after a trip to the doctors we were told to check it out once the swelling went down and if it were no better to go back for some corrective procedure ahhhh!!!!!!! Here is a pic just after it happened - poor boy..

So I went to see my client and then after Bree and Braeden and I went to Kinglake (about 1.5hrs away) to view some Pure Bred Staffordshire Terriers that we had been anticipating the birth of for ages!!!! I was undecided about getting one but knew I wanted a girl and there were only 3 girls to choose from out of 9 puppies!!! The mummy dog (Storm) was just adorable and so placid she was more than happy to have us gorking and patting at her and her puppies.!!! They were only 4 weeks old and we were getting first pick with was great after waiting so long. We looking and cuddled and looked some more, I ended up deciding to get a gorgeous placid but playful little girl aww here she is!!!

So next came the name game!!! Kaitiaki was no help, he kept calling her woof, or Uncle Shaun's dog's name Sally!!!! So we had a list of many names firstly Tayha, Abby, Izzy, Shae, Tessa and it went on and on. Then after asking so many people for ideas 3 people in the one day suggested 'Stella" so there it is and it has stuck!!!!! So she will be a Stella!!!! We can't get her for another 2 weeks coz she is so young but we are all ready and prepared!!!

Last week we went to Planet Kids the play centre to run riot, although Kai took that literally and we had to leave in the end as he hit 2 little girls and hurt another so he was in the baddie books for the trip home!!! He looked like the really bully with his fat nose and short hairstyle!!!! My lil roughy!!! hehehe
Not much else the weather hasn't been the greatest so finding it difficult to get outside!! I think if it keeps up we will just rug up and get out there beanies, gloves and all !!!!!

Tasmania.. Chills and brrrrrrr.............

So we arrived in Tassie!!! We had a great flight in Thursday it was quite a yucky day and Mum was concerned about the crazy winds we had earlier in the morning!!! All was good though and we dropped the car off at the parking area and then got speedily driven to the airpost. Mummy and Junie had a lovely coffee ahhhhhhh ... and then we made our way to the gate!.. We boarded and Kaitiaki got the seat near the window!!! He is such a great traveller and was quite happy to sit there the whole trip and be entertained with books and looking out at the clouds!!

We arrived at Tassie and Ronpa picked us up and with a little hiccup with our (Junie's!!!!!!!!!!!) baggage we made it to drop of the bags at the house then we went back into Hobart. By 5ish we were well and truely iced up!!!! The weather snapped cold and we made a dash for the shops!!! hehe Well mummy and Junie did and Tiaki just followed!!!!

On Friday mummy drove us to Eastlands on the BIG freeway ahhh scary!!! we got there really well with Ronpas directions but we didn't get any 'getting back' directions!!!! ooppsss so with some quick lane changes and a few sorry's we made it safely home somehow!!!
Yesterday Nanny Kerryn had the day off work so we went back to Eastlands and had a shop in Big W and K Mart. Mummy got a lovely shawl and a beanie for the chill!!
Kaitiaki got some lovely spiderman goodies and some awesome Ice Age Pyjamas!!

Today we had Sally and Lyn with the boys Grant, Zeb and Dusty here for a visit from up north of Tassie ( Not 100 % on location!!) so that was great Kaitiaki had a ball with the kids after so much grown up behaviour!!! Kaitiaki and Zeb had fun having boy wrestles and played with the trucks then they found the stairs which to kids is heaven!!! They had a ball running up and then scooting down the stairs!!! Could have been a disaster but there were no injurys thankfully!!!

Easter..fun..trains..chocolate..swimming..chocolate.. fun .. chocolate!!

On Thursday went to the Aquarium so we could get the water in our fish tank tested to see if it had gone through its cycle so we can get some Nemo fish!!!

Hooray after a long 5 weeks it is ready for fish although with going to Tassie next week we thought it was best to wait till we get back before we choose our fish!! In the afternoon when Kaitiaki woke up we had Lynne with Olivia and baby Luke pop around and we exchanged easter eggs. Olivia had been to kmart and saw the Easter Bunny so bought Kaitiaki some bunny ears back!! They demolished some easter eggs and then went off to play so Mummy and Lynne could have a coffee .. !!

On Friday Tiaki and I went to Pa's work and got some coloured paper and found a great design online to make an easter basket. We came home and Mummy did all the cutting out and Kaitiaki did an awsome colouring job, then he stuck the cute tail on the back. It was a winner !!!! Very clever boy took great pride in getting loads of colours and putting some here and then there was good fun. We usually leave that 'messy' stuff for creche but I think he is really getting into the colouring and pasting so might have to do some more!
On Saturday Kaitiaki and Daddy went to see Ice Age 2 at the movies with Shanei, daddy and Shanei said he was very good but was a real seat hopper!!!

Sunday Morning was fun fun!!!!! Mummy and Daddy placed Easter bunny footprints everywhere and lead them to yummy easter eggs! When the boy woke up all I could hear was whispers about Easter eggs - so cute... Jumped out of bed and the fun started!!!!
He was not silly straight onto the easter bunny path with his basket he made!!!!! He had so much fun filling it up and following the footprints to find more and more eggs!!!!

He then had chocolate and more chocolate for breakfast, he wasn't even interested in Mummy and Daddy's bacon and eggs!!!! After eggs from Junie and eggs from Nana & Sundae he is totally loaded with chocolate eggs so mummy has hidden some on the fridge!!!

We went and saw Sundae and the girls and gave them their eggs from the Easter Bunny!!!
Then Kaitiaki and Daddy set off for the steam train in Mornington they look like it was all good fun by the photos below!!!

Today we are all still recovering from gorging on chocolate but Kaitiaki is still going and still going on about swimming so even thought it is freezing cold we braved it and took him for his first real swim in the big pool!!! He was a natural, absolutely loved it and was like we go there all the time!! Jumping in off the edge and swimming around barely being held up, absolute crazy fish he was!!!!! After a good hour + he had enough and so too had mum and dad!! So we showered and headed off for a late lunch of fish and chips. Tiaki was so worn out he didn't even make the car ride home before crashing out !!!!! He had a great sleep too!! So seems like we will be spending more time at the pool!!!! Mummy snuck in this pics and grabbed a couple of movies before realising the big signs saying NO PICTURES ALLOWED!!!

After a big long weekend I think we will have a day in tomorrow with no plans as yet. We need to do some packing for our trip to Tasmania to see Nan and Ronpa on Thursday. They are experiencing some cold and windy days at the moment so deffinately packing the winter woolies!!! Loads of socks and thermals!!!!! Even getting the gloves and scarves out!!!!

Fun Friends and Shopping!!!

On Thursday last week we went into Frankston and went shopping with Bree and Tate. Kaitiaki and Tate sat so well in the prams we were well impressed.!! And for such a big shopping day they were spot on with their toilet stops, very very happy mummies we were and the boys knew it too!! They both had a baby chino which went down a treat.!!
Mummy went mad shopping at our favorite shop ever - Pumpkin Patch, also got some great Spiderman jocks and mummy even got some new tops and some trakkies!! Stocking up for cold Tassie!!!!!

On Friday we went to Planet Kids a great indoor play centre. We met Lynne with Olivia and Luke, also Sundae with Jaelyn and Charlize, Erin and Taeisha and Bree and Tate quite the mummies group!!!! I took my camera ready for fun happy snaps and just as I took the first picture of many it wanted new batteries!! Always the way! Here is the one and only I got all day!!!

On Saturday we didn't do too much just around home and went and did some groceries..
On Sunday daddy wanted to go to DFO and see what bargains we could find. Mummy fell in love with the Billabong, Rip Curl and Roxy shops and almost bout a pair of very expensive Dr. Martens boots!!! luckily daddy stopped me!!!!!

Yesterday mummy worked so Kaitiaki went to creche, as soon as we walked in Vincent came running up very excited Kai was in so off they went to play in the sand!!!!
I picked him up after work and he was happy to come home and see daddy had called in for dinner!!..

Today we had friends over for lunch mummies school friend Stacey and her boy Brayden.. Kaitiaki was quite rough at times and had to have some quiet time alone but liked to show all his toys to Brayden especially his cars on his new play mat from IKEA!!!!! mummies other favorite shop!!!

We leave next Thursday for Tassie so getting all prepared for the chill..!!!! Looking forward to seeing Mum/Nanny and Kaitiaki is so excited about going on a plane. It will be a year since we have flown, this time last year we were off to New Zealand so it will be interesting to see if Kaitiaki deals with flying just as well as then.

Wooly weather

Just a quik catch up from us today. The weather certainly has turned cold and we are pulling out all the woolies. Tasmania sure will be interesting in a couple of weeks!!!

Here is the boy 'swimming' in the pool, I think that swimming lessons are definately on the cards!!!!

A day at the park..

This morning we went to the park to meet up with Lynne, Olivia and baby Luke. Olivia told us that she got rid of her dummy to the dummy fairies and posted them away yesterday. She got some lovely cupcakes from them so she shared them with Kaitiaki (lucky boy). We had lots of turns on the slide and on the swing (has to be Kaitiaki s favorite play equipment). Later Vicki and Merinda turned up and we had some lovely hot chips and sauce for lunch. Kaitiaki was more interested in checking out the beach and trying to escape from me!! Finally we sat peacefully and ate for at least 10 minutes and then Kaitiaki feed the seagulls which didn't make mum too impressed!!!

unfortunately for Kai it had to come to an end so we hopped in the car and shot round for a quick visit to see Pa at work. Nana Junie happened to be there too so we told her all about the slide and the swings.!!
Kai was getting quite tired and grumpy so we headed home for an afternoon snooze.!! Kaitiaki decided (with protest) that he didn't want to wear a nappy to bed so he cleverly went to the toilet before bed and went to sleep with no nappy.... hooray could this be the start of something great!!!!!!!
Daddy came over for dinner and we had lovely chops and veggies. I read my favorite book for the moment - of course a Dinosaur one!!!

At the moment whenever you ask Kai something he says "huh" so I am really focusing on him saying pardon rather than huh so yesterday we went to see Junie, Kaitiaki and I were discussing dinner, I said to Tiaki "We're going home to have dinner, huh" and he replied "Mummy - pardon" !!!!! I was in fits of laughter and he had his most serious face on!!!! I love the honesty and innocence in him!..
Yesterday we left the car at home and walked to creche and then I walked back to head off to work here is Tiaki just before we left..... loves a walk!!!!

Well tomorrow we are heading to the library to take some books back and collect some more shall try and venture away from Dinosaurs!!!! not likely!!!

This morning we had Lynne, Olivia with baby Luke and Chantel and Imojyn around to play and although Olivia and Kaitiaki are great pro wrestlers with each other there wasn't too much of that and they played really nicely. Although they though it was a great idea to dig up and aroung the poor lemon tree who was just transplanted from the other house!! I am sure it will survive!...

Kaitiaki was quite interested in baby Luke today and sat with him for quite a while and chatted with him, continually showing him toys right up close!! Us gals had a lovely lunch from the fish and chip store around the corner - yummy lamb souvlaki's. which went down a treat.!!
I had made the kids some tasty chocolate crackles and some choc chip cookies and banan cake in my cooking spree last night!!, so they were a winner after lunch! Not just a winner with the kids either!!

After they left Tiaki went down for his afternoon sleep although didn't sleep as long as normal today only an hour and a bit. We spent the afternoon outside as it's been such a nice day today and then came in for dinner before the mozzies ventured out!!!
Popped out this evening and saw Nana June where Tiaki devoured 2 apples and endless handfulls of sultanas ( the all time favorite!) and then came home for a milk and bed!
Tiaki is enjoying his new room and hasn't really battered an eyelid with the whole change of family life.
Although if he is in trouble he is quick to cry for daddy!!!! cheeky mite.!!
I am thinking about swimming lessons on a Tuesday morning for us as we are not getting to the library lately and with his LOVE of the water I think it would be really good for him to have some experience and confidence in the water.
